About This Site

This website was created by members of The Clay Garden in Twickenham to share our collective experiences using different glazes and clays in the studio kilns.

 

All the glaze samples featured here have been fired in The Clay Garden kiln: bisque firings are Cone 06 (1020°C), and glaze firings are at Cone 8/9 (1240°C). 

 

Since most glaze manufacturers only provide sample results for Cone 5/6 or Cone 10, we wanted to build a resource specific to Cone 8/9 firings. Our hope is that this collection helps others avoid repeating the same mistakes experiments.
